PICS Stream Opening Speech: Lean Agility in different sectors

Companies need to take actions to overcome the current financial and economic crisis and prepare for better times. The only correct way forward is by becoming more lean and agile simultaneously.

Now is the time to assess your level of lean agility, identify weak points and launch initiatives for becoming more competitive in the future.

The CMI Lean Agility® (Company Mass Index) assessment scheme has shown to be an excellent qualitative management vehicle to identify the way forward. It has been used in a variety of different sectors and business processes.

During this presentation, recent developments and results will be shared.
prof. dr. ir. Luc Chalmet, professor at Universiteit Gent and Universiteit Antwerpen, managing partner of Cimes

The Quantification of Lean

Lean has attracted much attention in industry and is now spreading into services, office environments and non-profit organizations. However, as more organizations apply Lean, the specifications of Lean – what to do and to what extent – become more and more important.

Here we address recent research and application results indicating that Lean programmes can be very quantifiable and can go far beyond the descriptive approaches.
prof. dr. Nico Vandaele, Gewoon Hoogleraar KULeuven, board member PICS Belgium

Lean Sun Tzu
